The Visit Braunton shop at the Braunton and District Museum and Information Centre has a large selection of books, booklets and DVDs for sale.  You can purchase any of the items in the shop, by telephone or mail order.  We have local walking guides, local history booklets, war history DVDs and local interest books. There also is a varied selection of 'Locally made Fabric craft items, Hand Knitted Baby Garments, souvenirs, cards and gifts including original paintings of local scenes.

 The story of Samuel Ellacott   1911 - 1997.
       Samuel Ernest Ellacott was born in           Winkleigh and moved to North Devon in        1930, where he remained until his death.
​   He was a greatly respected schoolteacher   in Barnstaple and Braunton. He authored     many books on Braunton and was a gifted                                              illustrator too.

A facsimile copy of a booklet published by the 'North Devon Railway Preservation Society' in 1974. ​The railway was a victim of the 'Beeching Axe' and closed in 1970. The NDRPS was formed in 1971 with the objective of retaining and reopening the line. Unfortunately this was doomed to fail.

Postcards to my Love.

  In August 1902, Albert William Bishop, took 2 weeks holiday in Ilfracombe. For the second week he was joined by his fiancée Gertie. During the first week Albert wrote to Gertie at 4 hour intervals a total of 50 postcards and this booklet reproduces those postcards and the gentle love shown in them.
