OUT & ABOUT: BEACHES, SURFING & WATER SPORTS

North Devon is famous for its variety of beautiful beaches.  Saunton Sands and Croyde beaches are both within easy reach of the Braunton village.

Crow Point

At the very southern end of Braunton Burrows lies Crow Point, marking the union of the sea and the River Taw estuary.  Accessed by a toll road along the edge of Braunton Marsh.

Croyde Bay

Picture
A world famous sandy beach, backed by sand dunes and situated in a small bay on the North Devon Coast. Heralded as one of the best surfing beaches in the South West and host to North Devon's surf & music festival - GoldCoast Oceanfest in June.

Saunton Sands Beach

Saunton Sands beach is Braunton's closest beach; a glorious three mile long expanse of sandy beach facing due west and backed by the impressive sand dunes of Braunton Burrows.

At the northern end of the beach is car parking, restaurant, cafe, shop, beach huts, Saunton Sands Hotel and Saunton Beach Villas.
